Frequently asked questions

Do you take any traditional posed shots?

Yes, I will spend time taking some relaxed portraits of you together as a family as well as individual shots, these will be great for decorating the walls of your home. However, I will spend more time capturing the personality of each member of your family naturally.

Should we bring anything to the session?

Bring anything you enjoy doing together as a family, your child’s favourite toy, games, balls, kites, bubbles. Water & snacks are also a good idea for an energy boost (or a bribe!)

What should we all wear?

Prior to the shoot I will send you my ‘What to Wear’ Cheat sheet, but the most important thing is that you all want to look and feel like yourselves.

Do my children need to be perfectly behaved?

Simple answer, no. I know all parents worry about how their children will react at a photo session but we will be going on an adventure to capture some special memories they will treasure when they are older. All I ask is that parents keep an eye on their children at the location as some may be near open water or roads.

How would you describe your photography style?

I try to keep all of my portrait photography very natural, capturing moments as they happen. I will offer some light suggestions for posing but then let the magic happen from there. I usually find that people will become more relaxed in front of the camera and your final images will be flattering as well.

Where does the photo session take place?

I have a collection of locations all over Lincolnshire which I have personally scouted out for portrait sessions. At our pre-shoot chat I will share your options and you can choose where you would like your shoot. If you have your own special location we can discuss this as well, I may need to visit the location before our shoot to be able to see what the lighting will be like.

What happens if it rains?

I’ll be in touch a couple of days before the shoot after consulting the weather forecast and offer your options. I know a variety of outdoor locations with lots of shelter from the rain, or we can embrace the rain and get everyone in wellies and jumping in puddles!

Do you photograph in colour or black and white?

I do a mixture, choosing what I think works best for each individual photo.

How do I view the photos after the session?

48 hours after your session, I will send you a sneak peek of around 5-10 images to your email address. Around 1-2 weeks after your session you will receive an email with a link to an online gallery with the edited images, here you may download any images included in your package or purchase more.

How quickly do we have to choose what to purchase?

After viewing the images your online gallery will be available for 1 year, giving you plenty of time to decide which products you’d like to purchase and to be able to revisit the gallery and purchase more for gifts later down the line!

What happens if one of us is ill or needs to reschedule?

I am happy to reschedule if something major comes up, I just ask that you let me know as soon as possible.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

How do I book a session with you?

Just get in touch on my contact page and we’ll find a suitable date. To lock in your date I will need a signed contract and 50% of your chosen package. This payment is non-refundable.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes! Please check out my store to purchase, I offer digital and physical gift vouchers.

Can you edit out my *insert body hang up here*?

I am more than happy to remove spots and blemishes, basically anything that won’t be there in a months time. If you have a ‘side’ you prefer to be photographed from please let me know and I’ll make sure that the photos are flattering and won’t need any extra photoshop magic.

What time do the sessions take place?

The ideal times are in the morning or in the evening. Morning and evening light is lovely and if we go to a park or public place it tends to be less busy. I’m happy to find a time that suits you.

Can I have the RAW or unedited files?

I take huge pride in my work to make sure I deliver beautifully edited and finished photographs. For that reason the RAW, unedited images are not available for purchase or otherwise, simply because they do not represent the finished product or my work and style.
